Raised listening to jazz fusion, funk, rock and soul, our bass player, Marc, brings a melodical twist to the band with his ability to weave in and out of the music adding detail where necessary but holding down a solid groove (with a slight funk edge) which fills our back line.
Marc
Marc started out at the tender age of 14 when his father bought back a fender copy bass and a small 30 watt practise amp. It sat there for a while when curiosity took over and he found himself listening to his favourite records and learning the bass lines and riffs he heard within his favourite music.
After a while he became comfortable with the fretboard and started focussing his attention on his favourite bass players, exploring their music and trying to emulate their styles. Players like Jaco Pastorias, Stanley Clarke, Phil Lynott, Roger Waters, Jimmy Johnson (Allan Holdsworth), Marcus Miller, Geddy Lee to name a few.
Years later, after several bands and different bass guitars, some of which have been truly unique, as was his Ashbory by Guild and his trusted JD Status, he has settled down and is now very happy with his new ESP B-5E which plays like a dream!
Some habits die hard though and throughout our music you will still hear some slaps and pops as he still tries to incorporate these nuances into the mix...
